The single by the group Cru “Just Another Case/Pronto” blasted on the scene in the summer of ‘97. 30 gems on the full length, hence “Da Dirty 30”. In Philly attending art school at the time. That entire period was spent listening and being influenced by the wax on the platters. Always in rotation in my studio apartment was a GD album, an underground hip hop album or mixtape, reggae, jazz and anything else I could find while digging or heads provided. All brought together by that plant, youth culture, and other mind altering substances being maneuvered, ha. Reminiscing about these times a few years ago made this come to life. Serving a dual purpose “Grateful Cru” is how our squad is living and the vibe we live by. Influence and inspiration.
